Environmental Impact
Goal 1 : Root Cause of all Problem
Bottled liquid has seen a growth spike in demand. These bottles are mostly made from PET (Polyethylene terephthalate), which are not fully biodegradable, and they take more than 450 years to decompose. So, whatever plastic we produced in the past few centuries are still around, and they are either stagnant on landfills or clogging city drains and making their way to our food chain.
Goal 2 : Visualising SDG Goals
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or Global Goals are an assembly of 17 interlinked global goals forged to be the blueprint for realising a better and more sustainable tomorrow for all. Every nation now is working on completing that global framework by 2030. Bangladesh is also playing its part by actively improving, innovating and strengthening its sustainability and infrastructural mechanisms.
Goal 3 : Effect of Textile Industry
With textile being responsible for 10% of the global greenhouse gas emission, improvement in the eco-sustainability aspect of this sector is a must. Around 793 billion cubic metres of water is used yearly in this sector. Thus, making this sector a great concern for environmental conservationists. With that in mind, many companies have started their technological evolution.
Goal 4 : Our effort to fulfill SDG Goals
If we were to keep account of the SDG goals, then goals 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 17 can be directly contributed from the textile sector through responsible production and sourcing. By creating sustainability, innovation, eco friendliness, waste reduction, and recycling, Raw Tech Limited and many other companies are working together to fulfill these goals for tomorrow’s better future.
Goal 5 : Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
Our eco-sustainable plant has ensured sustainable and resilient infrastructure to promote inclusive and self-bearing industrialization. With extensive scientific research and technological capabilities, we encourage innovation and raise Bangladesh’s export and employment share.
Goal 6 : Responsible consumption and production
With sustainable production management, we provide responsible management which is environmentally sound and efficient in energy consumption. We do this by sourcing materials from waste plastics, thus encouraging recycling and reuse from both the production and consumption end.
Goal 7 : Climate Action
Raw Tech focuses on sustainability and resilience with extensive recycling, ETP, and eco-friendly power facilities. This ultimately helps us to lower fossil fuel consumption, lessen wastewater and reduce pollution. We also encourage other companies to be involved in this cause to make a difference.
Goal 8 : Life below Water
With the textile industry using 79 billion metric tonnes of water every year, wastewater generation is at its peak. This causes massive marine contamination and kills millions of marine lives. That’s why Raw Tech uses state-of-the-art ETP to repurpose its wastewater and altogether remove water usage in the dying process.
Goal 9 : Life on Land
We ensure proper conservation and sustainable use of terrestrial and inland ecosystems by implementing a sustainable management system. This includes the protection of the surrounding natural habitat and its biodiversity. Taking strict actions against ecosystem preservation.
Goal 10 : Partnerships for the goals
Receiving direct investment from IM Global Limited and additional national and international investments, Raw Tech has boosted its strength. Thus strengthening domestic resource use, enforcing advanced tech, increasing export, and contributing to the country’s GDP.
Goal 11 : The Future Of Bangladesh
Bangladesh is by no means any behind; the country’s Textile owners are ready to invest more than $2.3 Billion to upscale production, improve quality, increase sustainability and above all, promote eco-friendliness. Additionally, foreign investors and national investors are investing a considerable amount of capital into this to fulfil the SDG goals and provide a safer life for all.
Goal 12 : Consequences On Nature.
Today, with more than a million plastic bottles thrown arbitrarily, we face severe pollution. But they are ultimately washed into the oceans. Polluting the oceanic ecosystem and destroying millions of marine life on the go. In addition, PET bottle production need non renewable fossil fuel, which causes energy wastage and extends into PET bottles’ entire lifespan, including the whole supply chain.
Goal 13 : Effects of Degraded PET Bottles
Environmental factors like heat and rain will cause the plastic to degrade with time. Turing these plastics into micro-plastics, which directly enters the ecosystem. In fact, they end up in the food chain of many animals. Alarming enough, microplastics have made their way to human foods, too. Also, plastics release harmful gases into the atmosphere upon degradation and contain Bisphenol A (BPA), a health hazard.
Goal 14 : How Recycling Create Wonder
Plastic production uses non-renewable energy sources like natural gas and oil, and it also produces harmful aftereffects throughout its lifespan. So, why should we abandon them to landfills and drains when they can be recycled and put to good use? This concept of converting PET bottles to SPT (Polyester Staple Fibre) is one of the most efficient ways to recycle trash and reduce pollution.
Goal 15 : The Way of Raw Tech Limited
Currently, Chinese and Indian firms are the prime leaders of SPT manufacturing. On the contrary, Bangladesh has a few companies doing this. But knowing that we can transform millions of PET bottles into usable yarns, geotextiles, cloths, stuffed goods, we took a leap of faith into building an eco manufacturing plant that will convert 7,500 tonnes of PET plastic every year. Be Sustainable | Recycle More | Initiate Reuse
